A free 5 day exploration of how crafts can change the world (or at least the world around us)
Are you looking for a way to connect to the community that actually helps people.
Something that is simple and yet effective.
One of the problems every church has is manpower. There is too much work and too few people. What they need is something that is quick and easy to set up. A project that does what needs to be done.
You look around and you are decidedly short of bridges into the community. There just isn’t the opportunity to meet them and serve their needs.
The problem is as you are not making that bridge you are struggling to find a way to build one. Without that bridge there is no way of people connecting with you. It leaves you isolated and disconnected and over looked and not being known enough to be respected. Worse still you become that holy huddle that one wants to join.
Are you looking for a way to build a bridge into the community that will bring them real benefit while still being within your capability? Something that means that you are actually meeting the needs that Jesus talked about in
I am Susan the founder of Everyone Can Craft CIC, author of Everyone CAN and the creator of the Everyone CAN Craft challenge. You get the theme here.
Today you are going to learn how and why you should set up a craft group that builds a bridge into the community and show them that you care about their needs. .
I created the 5 day Everyone CAN Craft challenge to help churches like yours to set up craft groups that enrich the lives of others. You could use them to provide undercover healthcare or social care.
It can all be done on an limited budget, in your existing building and involve people who might otherwise feel as if they had nothing to offer.
I have been a member of a church that served a small village for most of my adult life. I have seen what happens when a church retreats into itself i.e. it eventually closes. I have also helped to run the most amazing craft group the like of which I have never heard of before. We kept it going for 4 years until Covid took its toll enriching the lives of people with profound learning disabilities. People you would never have dreamed of being able to craft. I reckoned if we could find these people something to do in a craft group we could find something for everyone hence the name everyone CAN Craft. Yes we did the hard way but you do not have to.
This is your opportunity to learn what we did and how you could take what we learned on your journey to apply it to your own situation
